Looking for a budget laptop. What's the best bang for the buck these days? And RELIABLE. It will mainly be used for web browsing, word processing programs, and possibly photo and video editing. My budget is $400, maybe $450 or so tops. Any brands to stay away from? And....GO!
You'll get 1000 different answers, but we beat the hell out of our HP company laptops. I carry mine in a car daily and leave it in the heat and cold (in a case of course). The latest one is 2 years old and doing great. Several of us do the same and have had great luck with them.
A quick search found these: HP 350 G1 (G4S61UT#ABA) Notebook Intel Core i3 4005U (1.7GHz) 4GB Memory 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 4400 15.6" Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit - Newegg.com DELL Inspiron 15 i3542-3333BK Notebook Intel Core i3 4030U (1.90GHz) 4GB Memory 500GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit - Newegg.com Should blow away web browsing and word processing, shouldn't have any trouble with photo editing, but will be pretty slow with video editing but will eventually get it done. Nothing in this range will be very great with video editing.
+1 I usually buy Dells. But, I'm also usually looking at the higher end of their models. So, I'm not familiar with their entry level models.
I don't plan on really using it for video editing , but say I wanna edit a short video like from my phone or something, I would like to be able to. I don't know jack shit about laptops, I haven't owned one in over 13 years now. I am not looking to use it for professional quality video editing, or stuff like that.
Yeah. Editing something from a phone would be no problemo. I was just poking at Michael. Any decently equipped modern laptop is WAY beyond anything that was out 5-7 years ago.
The ASUS I got the wifey has been a solid machine. Very light, and cheaply priced! Take a look at those, Scotty
Picked up an new HP today for $349 at Best Buy. So far I like it. My last HP was bought back in 2007 and it still runs, slow as hell now, but it runs. We just needed a cheap, light and reliable pc for the kids and other random needs. I refused to spend over $400. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
