You can do incredible shapes using MDF just like you can with fiberglass but without the chemicals and mess. It also gives the piece a solid feel. If I were going for a painted item, fiberglass would be my choice.

Hey Draenor... "bite my shiny metal ass" would be a great custom title. Bender and all...

Yeah, I was gonna put it in last night, but the CP options didnt have a place to enter a custom title.

I personally like the smell of the resin, that and you can’t mess up fiberglass. If you screw up you sand some of it off and add more. But the chemicals are nasty and not exactly good for you.

Anybody here that does interior work? I want to make a slick custom center console for my truck that incorporates my GPS, a computer, and a bunch of other electrical accessories but I need somebody that can cover it in vinyl once I'm done. I used to have an installer buddy here that could cover a bowling ball with a flat sheet of vinyl but he's since moved on to other things.

yea me, 20 years in doing it, just dont have the time for something like that now in summer sorry. YOu dont have any high end stereo shops around by you?

I have found a guy that builds custom interior components. He's going to look at my plans and see if he thinks he can do what I want. I'm going to build the console myself... I like self made stuff. I just need him to do the vinyl work.

I'll post some pics as I go.

If I had money I'd re-do my headliner in a black microsuede and have the door panels done in Zebra fur.
