I have homelink in mine. Never used it though because I don't have a garage. :dunno: Correct me if I am wrong, but can't it be used for other things too like turning lights in your house on and off? I am sure you would need a special receiver though to actually switch the lights on and off.
Yes it can be used for other things too, but like you said you need the HomeLink receivers inside to receive the signals from the vehicle. I used to have my carport light and a lamp inside controlled by the HomeLink in my truck. It was pretty nice since I was way out in the country and no street lights or anything around.
Jarrod, where does one find these receivers for in the home (whether it be like a junction box (plug into the wall and device into it) or a light socket that you just screw the bulb into)?

I got mine at Home Depot or Lowes, most of the larger hardware stores carry them. It's a little thing you plug into the receptacle, then plug your light into it. There are some pretty trick modules out there but they are fairly simple to install and if you get the HomeLink up and running it will just make life simpler. I really enjoyed having it at my old place.

Cool! I'll have to check out my Home Depot (don't have a Lowes around; only one I know of off the top of my head is 3 1/2 hrs away in Oshkosh, WI).

I was seeing more stuff for the 99-02's than anything. NO ONE has a writeup for the 400's. There are some for 03+, but I think there's something different about them; not sure. Oh, I think the map lights get their power once the key is turned on whereas the older trucks have power all the time to the map lights.

Damn, I just sold a 03 overhead console with maplights and a homelink receiver built in not that long ago. That's all you would need.
