So I got in my truck after work last night. Started truck up and drove down the road 'til the cab cooled down a bit. I went to turn down the blower from 5 to 4 on the dial. NOTHING:fume: I know in the last few days I have had other settings(at least down to 3)

I only have 5, all other settings Zilch!!! Is there a "common" problem my'02 Silvy has with similar models? or is this to broad of a question?:dunno:

Just curious if either the blower or the selector switch is the more common problem or___________.

I probably will pull the blower and if a parts store has a testor for borrow to start with.

Thanks for any input.

Sounds like the blower motor resistor to me. Do some google'ing and you should find plenty of info on it. I'm not an expert so I won't waste your time by pretending I know exactly what you issue is.:tmc:

Thanks guys. I'll start with that.

Tonight the fwonkin' thing wants to piss me off by working 5,4,3 as soon as I start the truck, but going back up only 5. Shut the truck off then start it back up, same thing. Guess the truck didn't like my post about trying to swap out for a digital control set up.:gunguy:

I'll swap out the resistor as soon as I get a few extra $$'s and post the results.

It does sound like the resistor. It's an easy fix, if you can get to the damn screws in the cover.

Well the heat shield under the dash sure is missing a fwonkin' screw (right above the center hump)'cause even with a flexshaft I couldn't get the somanabitch in so I said fwonk it and only have the 2 to contend with when changing out cabin filters etc.

I had the blower out a few weeks ago when I changed out the cabin filters just to clean the blades off and what not. NOW the thing shows it's ass.
