The air has been taking a while to cool down in my brothers Mustang recently, went to check the levels today and noticed the clutch would spin on and off every 5 seconds. No clue if this is normal or not so I figured I'd see if you guys would know. Thanks guys

Definitely not normal. Looks like there is a leak in the system somewhere.

Thats what I kind of figured. Someone hit the car in the front end about 2 months ago and did a decent amount of damage, I wouldn't be surprised if something happened to the a/c because of that.

May just be a connection or o-ring. Cycling quickly means the system is low on refrigerant.

Use real guages, ones that read high side and low side seperatly. You will get a more accurate reading. Actually R134 systems should be charged by weight. Which means the system should be evacuated, the leak repaired and the correct weight of refrigerant put in. To easy to overcharge R134 using guages.

It just needs a can of Freon...
It is a little bit low.
That's why it akes so long to cool down and why the compressor is kicking in and out so fast.

The compressor is not holding enough head pressure to keep the clutch engaged...
Short cycling is absolutely normal if it is low on Freon... which... going by your gauge, it is.
