Differences problems power w.e you may know about them please enlighten me. Im about to sell my current truck and go with a newer F250 and start over again. Always wanted something bigger but just want to learn more about them. Anywhere 08-11 due to prices. Staying around the 37k down range. Obviously im already looking at trucks with 50-60k on them but for a diesel thats no problem. Thanks for the help in advance guys.

Well the 6.4 is a twin turbo diesel, which I believe was the first powerstroke coming from the factory that way. When I worked at one of our local Ford dealerships I heard many extreme opinions on both sides. We had quite a few traded in and in the shop for different motor issues. Although had as many owners praising it, however that may be mostly because anything coming after the terrible 6.0 motor is a success haha.

The 6.7 went back to a single turbo if i'm not mistaken, and I can't think of one issue that we had with any of them. My dealership had contracts with multiple companies/organizations that get trucks exclusively from us and got to talk to them about the new truck and i got overwhelmingly positive feedback. I got to drive some and even in a dually it had crazy power.

As far as gas mileage the 6.7 SHOULD beat the 6.4 by quite a few mpg's. While also(on paper) having more pulling power and power all around. Can't give personal experience to validate.

Although as far as looks...the '08 F250 with the side gills and a 6.4 is my favorite looking truck, period. I plan to make that my next truck....

We have had several work trucks with the 6.4, and they rarely go more than 30-40k miles (some less) without some kind of issues. We have started getting some 6.7's now and I haven't heard one negative comment. Personally, I would avoid the 6.4 almost as hard as the 6.0, but I'd drive a 6.7 in a heartbeat.

With all the customizing you do to your vehicles, I would get a Cummins. Tons of aftermarket options for those.

Not anymore, it isn't. There's a lot of people complaining they wish they still had theirbold 5.9.
Cummins has gone down a LOT in their commercial engines... Way worse than their light duty stuff.

Get a Dodge instead if you want a diesel. Powerstrokes are crap.

The old ones were, but the 6.7 is the first completely in house designed and built diesel motor by Ford. They've improved on many aspects where the navistar built motors were lacking. Not saying it doesn't still have room for improvement, but alot of the complaints and running jokes of old about a powerstroke are gone.

That being said if I was getting a diesel, i'd get a Dodge. Mine's been great other than going through 2 torque converters. I love the way they look, sound..especially the 5.9, I'd rather have that than even the beloved Ford 7.3. You just have to worry about the transmission ofcourse, so it's a toss up.
