I was told all the pick ups and SUVs have the deep pan

Then why every time I look up a filter it asks if I have the deep or shallow pan?

I went through the same thing with my Tahoe. I finally went to the dealer and asked. The partsman told me that all the pick-ups and SUVs back to like 93 had the deep pan. Only a few 2wd models early on had the shallow, as well as the cars.

Just what he told me so I always said "deep" whenever they asked when I got one for my half ton trucks
