broke this down out of a new silverado ext cab z71. truck has 250 miles on it... and this is what manual first looked like.

customer concern was 4500 rpm in first gear and not shifting in tow mode, took trailer off and still same concern.. and felt like the truck was slipping. well..... after you wipe clean the clutches of friction material, burn the band up and its drum... you have an issue now dont yah. 250 miles... wtf is this guy towing... he wont say...

Notice the one friction disc... its got rainbow colors on it.. that got hot. lol

and check out the band and its drum... that thing got hot as well.

At 250 miles, I'd bet on clutch material failure. I've seen them disintegrate in 4L60s. Something had to crater for him to do that kind of damage in that short distance.

Could it have been an assembly issue?

I believe the term is "Infant Mortality". It happens.
