22761722 front diff axle seal issues??

Went to order new front diff axle seals for my 2004 Silverado 1500 4x4... GM part#15801507...This part has been replaced by GM the new number is 22761722. I heard that you should "NOT use 22761722 on 2006 and older models. It will seep and leak....use old style 15801507"

I did a search and found the new seal 22761722 is a two sided seal. On one side of the seal it actually says "air side".

Has anyone had issues with the new 22761722 seal leaking on 2006 and earlier models??

Looks like a nice improvement over the old single lip seal. I would think it would seal better. Those that complain of leakage, may have damage the seal during installation or be dealing with worn bearings?
