Help guys and gals?

Sorry if this is a bit confusing as it is hard for me to explain unless you are here. I might take a video of it if that would help.

So anyways about two weeks ago my suv started having engine problems (starting up). It was turning over like it should and on the message center. Messages like "test" would come up asking me to sweep the gauges, telltales, part numbers,etc... and my advac trac light would come on. So I took it to my local body shop and they referred me to a Ford Service center. Well the Ford Service Center said I needed to get my electrical short in the dashboard. So supposedly they fixed it but two days later those same messages and when I started my engine it would not start right up before I had it fixed. So my truck goes back to my local body shop for them to do a diagnostic check they get the same messages and problems back to the Ford Service Center. They all do a diagnostic check and called my dad yesterday to tell him that it needs a new battery and battery (or electrical cords) which is bull from what my local body shop owner said. He has 47 years in the field and the other idiot is top in the state. Blah blah I trust my local body shop more then the idiots at the Ford Service Center.

So I picked it up today with my dad. Of course my dad is pissed off as I am but I really just want my suv to be fixed!! My dad isn't to pleased with them right now so tomorrow I will drop my exploder off at my local body shop again. I swear they have seen it more then I have in the past two weeks. FML:dunno:

Has anyone ever had issues like this? This is the first time that it has happened to me and I am the second owner. It has only 69,000 miles on it (live 10 minutes from work).

Help Please guys and gals..

Thanks!!:(

It does sound like a short of some sort. I do have to say though, there is a HUGE difference between a body shop and a mechanical shop. That being said, I never trust any of them. Hopefully you get it figured out soon!

It does sound like a weak battery or bad battery cables. Battery cables can corrode on the inside of the insulation.

Ok, I was questioning why you were taking it to a body shop. I would start with all the grounds like Kenny said. Wires can do funky things inside the insulation. If something isn't making a great connections it can do all sorts of funky stuff.
