IMO, stay away from the body lift. Too much work extending shafts, harnesses, linkaged, and relocating stuff. I know it sounds weird, but I find suspension lifts easier to do. :dunno:

i know man the body lift will be the worst but i bought all the lift and wheels as a pacage and the 38's wont fit just a 6 inch lift =/

and ill put up some before pics today just need to finish a few things anyways back to studying

You are correct suspension lifts are normally alot easier to do, but there is absolutely nothing HARD about a body lift. Just very time consuming. I have one on my truck and love it, it gives me extra room to work on the motor or even the transmission (dont ask :fume:)

Im glad you are taking off your 2" leveling kit. But really you are just adding another 2.5" leveling kit. Dirt Logics are adjustable shocks and if you adjust them then you are effectively leveling the truck. Theres nothing wrong with this if you dont get carried away. Dont crank them over 2" and you will be fine anymore than that and you will start putting harsh angles on your upper and lower ball joints. The 6" lift will make the truck sit level, or even possibly higer in the front. So by adding any more lift via cranking of the dirt logics will result in more of a bull dog stance (higher in front) this can be fixed by adding a new leaf pack (deaver, atlas, and comepition leaf spring sell lift springs), you can also fix the lower rear by adding an add - a - leaf or bigger block. Now with what you have listed 6" Suspension lift +2.5" dirtlogics + 3" body lift (but you dont have to run the dirt logics at 2.5, you can run them at 0 if you wanted id run them from 0-2). Now the other thing i see a MAJOR problem with you goals is you didnt mention having the ring and pinion regeared, with 38's you really need to consider 4.88's front and rear (if 4x4, if 4x2 you only have to replace rear axle gears) These trucks run a 4r75w that is not a strong transmission in any way shape or form, I will garuntee prolonged driving with oversized tires and stock gears will leave you with a broken transmission.

I hope this helps you in some way

hey man i know what you mean and just an fyi im not putting in a 2.5 inch lvl kit its the series of the dirt logis shocks on putting in is the 2.5's haha... but with the regearing i know what you mean also i have the 3.73s right now and im going to step up to the 4.56's as soon as i get another check in... the plan is to run those 38's down to nothing then take out the body lift and put 35's in i bought all this used so im just going to drive it how i got it... but you think 4.56's would be alright for 38's for the time being or should i do 4.88's thats what im debating about.

Honestly if you are like any other lifted truck driver that i have ever met, one you get it lifted you will always want to go higher. So i dont mean in offense when i say this but i highly doubt you will ever want to take that body lift off. They are a PITA to install and VERY time consuming ive done 3 on just F150's and countless on other vehicles. I average 12-16 hours for a complete install.

What motor do you have> 4.6 or 5.4L? IMO the difference between 4.56 and 4.88's is slightly higher RPMS at highway speeds, so you will notice a SLIGHT mpg loss at 70+ mph with 4.88's to 4.56's. But with 4.88's you will gain 1-3 mpg over 4.56's for intown driving (under 55).

At one time i was running 37's and 5.38's and i still could get my truck up to 85, so dont be worried that you would be speed limited. with 4.88's and 38's you will still easily beable to go as fast as you want to. Plus you wont feel like you are driving a turd.

even 35's and 4.88's isnt bad, its actually really fun ratio. specially if you like showing off.
