1950 Chevrolet 3100 Truck

Just a nice little 1950 Chevrolet 3100 truck that I saw at the car show today. Original equipment on this one, engine and transmission. When I was checking out the engine compartment I was leaning over and peeking in, I looked under the fan shroud and there was a wasp nest the size of my hand stuck in there. It was fake but I got a good laugh out of it. Enjoy.

I love those old trucks. When I was a kid my dad built a few of them with the 283 / 327 engine and manual 4 speed setups that were popular back in the 70s.

Yeah the guy was pretty cool and had some funny things there on the truck. The JD bottle and then the wasp nest. I was really let down about the rain. I kept getting rain drops on the lens and it messed up some of the pics.

Looks like a much newer air filter housing. Was it an old 235 six or something newer?

I thought the guy said it was a 235, but hell it was raining and most everybody was about to give up on the show. I took a pen and pad to take notes but my pen stopped working.

Looks like a newer 235,if you look below the carb it appears to be an EGR valve.But still being a 6 it stays in character with the truck

Originally had the old oil bath type breather. I'd imagine the upgrade was a good one. Couldn't prove it by me on the engine. I don't know them by looks. I'm certainly not taking anything away from the truck. It's very cool. Later model drivetrain would make for a great daily driver.
