I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 4.8L. I have always wanted to put turbo or a superchager on it. I found one turbo kit here STS - 1999-2006 GM Sierra/Silverado 4.8L/5.3L Tuner Turbo System - Turbochargers.com and two superchager kits

ProCharger High Output Intercooled Tuner Kit Supercharger GMC Sierra 1500-3500 0 Vivid Racing and

MagnaCharger Radix Supercharger Kit GMC Sierra 2004 Vivid Racing I'm thinking that the supercharger might be the better way to go. Whats the difference b/t the two superchargers and would i have to make any other mods or is it a straight bolt on kit. And one kit has upgrade options: 3 Core Intercooler Upgrade ( + $345.00 )
D-1SC SuperCharger ( + $450.00 ). What should i go with. I'm gonna keep everything else pretty much stock for now, can the stock engine handle it? Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

MagnaCharger Radix Supercharger Kit GMC Sierra 2004 Vivid Racing I'm thinking that the supercharger might be the better way to go. Procharger probably includes almost everything in their kit, I know Magnacharger includes absolutely everything. Magnacharger uses Eaton roots blowers and the Procharger is a centrifugal blower. Downside to the Radix is they are heat pumps when you want to make some real power. If your looking for a complete kit that is good for low end tq and mid range power go for the radix. If your looking for a good increase in overall power and great mid/high end go with a Procharger. If your looking to own everything go turbo. The right sized turbo will make a lot of power wherever you want. Magnacharger has a new line of TVS blowers, they do better on IAT's and are more efficient than the radix line.

The stock engine will be fine. Anything over 10 psi and a water/methanol kit is necessary to save the pistons, premium fuel is a must. The stock transmission is going to be stressed, it might last 3 days or 3 years.

Thanks for the welcome! So i would have to do something with the transmission too. :uhoh: I read the installation pdf for the Magnacharger. It says its for a stock only engine, but failed to mention anything about the transmission. What would i have to do? And i don't think the TVS blowers fit my truck. It says for 07-08.

They make TVS kits for your truck, they are relatively new so websites probably haven't been updated so you would have to call them. What are your goals for the truck? Maggie kits are simple, easy to maintain, and can make enough power for 90% of people...but if your looking for power potential turbo is the way to go.

:werd: You would be plenty happy with a TVS setup.
