Thats not realy enough info to help you. Is it a Chevy, Ford, or what. If Chevy, then why 5.3. Did you do an engine swap. Here is how o2 sensors work. The front sensor, or sensors read the amount of oxygen in the exhaust, and adjust the amount of fuel the engine needs by demand. The rear sensors compare the amount of oxygen in the fuel looking for a difference between the front sensors. This tells the ECM that the cats are doing there job. Thats the bassics anyway.
