Alright guys, i know i've asked about this too much... but my friend who was a gm certified mechanic said if i didn't use keys and just cranked the torsion bars that my truck (98 gmc 1500) would eat up front ends. Anyone had the problem?

it's been crashed once, has 103,000 miles, its got the 4.3 vortec, runs fine, and everything else works. Its 4x4 and has rims and bigger tires. i don't know why i didn't put all this lol... long day.
