even then I wouldnt think too many, if any Rangers or Explorers came stock with those gears.
Seems like Ford likes to put more of a highway gear in the rearends like my F150 with 3.55's.
I actually considered buying a supercharger for my truck when I sold my Mustang but then I saw the price and decided to pay off bills instead.
A rebuild kit for the 8.8 limited slip is cheap. I bought one for my Mustang and the clutch kit was like $50 or less. Why would you replace the whole...
A supercharger is $6-7k which to me really isnt worth it, especially on a higher mileage truck.
Gears will run around $500-600 installed per axle. I had 4.10's put in a Mustang I had and they made a huge difference compared to the factory 2.73's.
Thanks.
I just replaced the original battery with a new Motorcraft one this winter when it finally died on a really cold day.
I did have to get the bearings replaced in the rearend at 96k but I think that was the biggest issue so far.
Its almost paid off and Im keeping it for a long time.
122k on my '06 F150. Amazing how many parts are still original to it.
Any rust on yours? My rear wheel arches started bubbling over the winter and now need some work.
check the rockers and cab corners for rust or previous rust repair. They always rot out on these trucks within a few years. They seem to rot even faster than a Dodge.

Ive got a tonneau cover that covers up...

Now I dont care so much because I have a take home company van with a gas card and dont have to put $100 in gas in the truck every week like I did before I got my current job last fall.

my dad has a Focus and he's 6'5".
Id personally get a Fusion. I like the looks of the pre-'13 (hate the '13) and theyre pretty good cars. Id look for a 4 cylinder 5 speed.
In that price range you can buy a nice Hyundai with alot less miles so look around that lot a bit more.
I had an Elantra before my truck and it was a great car and I only got rid of it because I wanted a truck again.
Here in NY you need to take a salvaged car to a state theft inspection before getting a title and you need to provide receipts for all parts and/or the title/salvage paperwork for a parts car if you had one. They check all the vin #'s on the replaced parts to make sure theyre not stolen.
