Just posted this on another site and want to spread some info and get GM to do something:
This is what I have done:
1. Placed dynamat on entire rear of cab behind insulator...................still have the noise
2. Placed Dynamat over vents.................................Don't do...
Fixed road noise
I removed the passenger seat today and placed some "ghetto dynamat" over the vent. I cut a 18" piece by 6" wide piece and started about 2 inches above the vent and went down to about 2 inches from the bottom of the rear of the cab. Make sure you leave about a golf ball size...
Moved my bed to 1" space from bed to cab on both sides. Left side was 1" and passenger side was 1 and 1/4" . Move bed to 1". No change in noise.
Will put some dynamat over the passenger vent tomorrow. I'll post.
Hey Stumpuller 6.2, I have the same truck and color, but have a 5.3...
I have realized that the drivers side gap between the bed and cab is 1", but the passenger side has 1 and 1/4" gap.
My friends 09 Crew cab has 1" gap on both sides. And his rear pad is different. His rear pad has a hard rubber side that faces the interior (seat area) and the side facing...
