I think my truck is finally at the point where it deserves a progression thread. Thanks to my meticulous nature, I've documented and photo'd every mod I've done to it, and I feel like sharing lately. :lol: First day I brought it home back in August of 2008 during that nice little gas crisis...

I always thought that they only cam with I4's and I5's. Shocked the hell out of me when I read that they had 5.3 V8's towards their end. Guess someone wanted to finally compete with the Dakota's.

Ever since the push clips that held that fabric under my bumper gave way, my temps have been getting up to 185 in stop and go traffic. The highest I ever saw it before that was 170, and I was going 100 MPH down the freeway.

What does "neutral it out" even mean?

1) Exhaust 2) Wheels 3) Programmer The gears were a colossal waste of money :(

I would be suspicious of a set of wheels only costing $100. He said that they've been curbed a few times, so they might be warped.

I always liked the Dakota R/T's, but could never find one with low enough miles and for the right price. I've always liked the idea of a light duty truck with a big V8 in it.

My concern about boost is from the lack of boosted gas engines in trucks. The strain of getting a 6000-7000 pound truck up to speed over a long period of time might show problems.

That seems to be a plausible explanation. They're trying to set a new trend but don't want to show them being outperformed by their other engines.

The only 6 cylinder engines I like are either from Cummins or sporty European cars. IMO, boost will cause reliability problems with the EB. Being under boost for long hauls can cause premature wear or failure.

I say 5.0. 1) It's not a V6 2) With boost, it can be a beast 3) The sound alone is intiminating :ohnoes:

I'm still not all that impressed with it. If they would have just TT's a 5.0 instead of a 6 cylinder, Ford would have the King Tiger of the gas V8's.

I only have to fill up once every 2 weeks. Fuel getting expensive only slightly effects me.

True, but you can't make a gas V6 sound good, not physically possible. :jester:

Not a big fan of diesels, but I'm even less a fan of V6's. I say go for the diesel.

X2 No point in trying to do all that custom fabrication on a truck that was never meant to be 4WD.

We have a student in my class that has cerebral palsy where I work and his cooridination is very limited. I hope you don't mind me asking, but can she safely operate an ATV? The student we have can see but his brain cannot process things properly and is more or less blind at certain distances.
