What did you do to your truck today?

Just finished some more painting... :ninja: Pictures tonight. I just realized I haven't taken pictures of the truck since February.

What did you do to your truck today?

Yesterday, I washed and clayed it, and waxed the half that fits in the garage (started raining). Also did some painting. :ninja:

Dan's '92 Miata - Really really slow build

As long as I live in her house, I still have to listen. :( Me too. Makes the car look a little less gay. Trust me, I did a lot of reading, thinking, more reading, and some more thinking before I committed to getting the bar. I'm actually quite afraid of hitting my head on it...

Dan's '92 Miata - Really really slow build

This was a "mother mandated" item. And in this area, 99% of the roads have drainage ditches on either side, which have history of making cars go shiny side down (I personally know people who have flipped an Altima, and a Civic because of the ditches). I was VERY wary of the head-to-roll bar...

I think some 15" silver Panasports would look GREAT on that color... Just sayin. :D

Good Lord that is an obnoxious sound.

    The Final Product

It will be louder. And pollute a LOT more. And smell a LOT more. And you'll have to get the rear O2 sensors tuned out to shut off the SES light. The only thing you gain by pulling the cats off of a stock 5.3L is in volume. If you want it louder, just get a smaller muffler and don't pollute...

What did you do to your truck today?

Took it to a couple of junkyards (buying parts, not selling ). Got a valve cover and a $150-$500 sensor for the Miata for $20 (not sure if the sensor works, but it's worth a shot).

The beginning of the end -- Salt takes its toll on another vehicle

Yes, but as far as I know you'd need the harness (and possibly PCM) from a DBC truck. It probably wouldn't bee too bad on a GMT800, but it just wouldn't be worth it on a GMT900 since they have the separate ECM and TCM, it's not like drive by wire is THAT bad.

    The Final Product

Unless your current cats are bad, save the cash. You won't see enough benefits, either in performance or sound to justify the cost.

The beginning of the end -- Salt takes its toll on another vehicle

I'd probably be looking for another '99-'02 to keep the drive-by-cable throttle body, but any GMT800 would probably be considered. We're still years away from this decision though, I'm going to drive this thing until it's unsafe. HELLLL naw, that bish is going in my next truck. :D2

The beginning of the end -- Salt takes its toll on another vehicle

Yeah after buying the Miata, I'm NEVER buying another used vehicle from above the Mason-Dixon line. That car is a few months away from being 20 years old, and doesn't have a spec of real rust on it, while my 12 year old truck is disintegrating before my eyes. :suicide:
