    Affordable Laptop Mount

Thanks again everyone. I actually modified it a little further, just haven't taken a pic yet. The plexi-glass surface looked unfinished to me so I sanded it and sprayed some of the 3M Rubberized Spray on it. It looks great now, looks like something I bought in a store :D

Thanks  Thanks you. I found that the steel gas line was the sturdiest to use.....I was in ACE for about and hour and almost went with other things such as PVC before I came across the gas lines. They are CHEAP too  and everything I didn't use I just returned.

    Affordable Laptop Mount

In this picture you can see the mounting surface. I made a tape line at the bottom of the plexi-glass and taped about 1inch across, then took a small propane torch and heated the taped off surface. **I ONLY HEATED IN 5 SECOND INTERVALS, CONSTANTLY MOVING UP AND DOWN, SO AS NOT TO RUIN THE...

Then added some black flex tubing to cover up the ugly steel pipes. Also I screwed on the laptop mount surface to the pipes. **AGAIN BE VERY CAREFUL AT THIS POINT NOT TO OVER TIGHTEN THE LAPTOP MOUNT SURFACE, AS IT WILL CRACK IF YOU TURN IT TOO MUCH.....I STARTED TO HEAR SOME TENSION CRACKS ON...

I then sat in the driver seat configuring the various lengths of pipe and elbows until I reached the position I wanted and that was most comfortable At this point I added some Gorilla Glue to all threaded parts after I tightened them as much as possible; this way they would not move around...

    Affordable Laptop Mount

I wasn't about to drill into my floor board, so I took a 1/2" bit and drilled out 2 of the small holes on the second base plate. The holes are opposite from each other so that I could play around with the base mount until it lined up how I wanted it. Now the hole is big enough for me to anchor...

    Affordable Laptop Mount

I then got a piece of square plexi-glass for the laptop to sit on and mounted one of the base plates to it by carefully drilling 4 holes and adding 4 screws to attach the plate. **BE CAREFUL WHEN TIGHTENING THE SCREWS, IF YOU DO NOT WORK SLOWLY AND IN A STAR PATTERN, YOU RISK CRACKING THE...
