Actually making progress over the last few days! Mounted the new tank first, then started making the seat pan. Started off by cutting out the rough shape out of some .080 aluminum. Started bending. Rough shape finished, the bends still need to be perfected and the pan itself is...

It's actually off of a 1979 CB650, looks a lot like the DOHC CB750/900 tanks, but it doesn't dip down in the back to meet the side covers like those tanks did.

Y'all can suck it, I love this color scheme. Not cafe style, more scrambler/street tracker with the dual seat, riser bars, and adventure-touring tires. I'm hoping to get this thing to be a reliable commuter that I can tear up some dirt roads and fire roads with if I feel so inclined...

I've kept the thing upright so far, put about 500 miles on it I believe. The head had to come off to replace a broken cam chain tensioner bolt which killed about two weeks of riding. It also took a while to get the charging system and carbs sorted out, but they're both working well enough...
