:rollin: Must be some shitty drugs, I'd hope if I was selling drugs I'd have more than $1600 to put into a bike. :D2
Gracias. Once the tank gets painted and I upholster the seat it should be pretty decent.
Went on a ride with a buddy last night and broke out the camera for the first time in a while.
No more progress, been working and dealing with other stuff.

Nah, haven't done shit since the wheels/tires last summer, just been driving it. Haven't even been to the track since November. Too many other things going on.
Only things new are more rust and more miles.
Thanks guys.
Fender will be trimmed soon, I was just showing my buddy last night where I plan on cutting it. Probably roughly 3" off of each end. Headlight and gauges will be addressed at some point, still debating what gauges to go with and how to mount the headlight.
Handlebars...
fWONk your smileys, penguinman. You've got a Triumph, right?
In other news...
The bike has a seat! I'd say the shape is about 90% done, now I just have to figure out how I'm going to find some leather (and sew it). Went on a ride tonight, and the seat is extremely comfortable, way better...
Actually making progress over the last few days! Mounted the new tank first, then started making the seat pan.
Started off by cutting out the rough shape out of some .080 aluminum.
Started bending.
Rough shape finished, the bends still need to be perfected and the pan itself is...
It's actually off of a 1979 CB650, looks a lot like the DOHC CB750/900 tanks, but it doesn't dip down in the back to meet the side covers like those tanks did.
Thanks guys.
Do it.
If you want to build a cafe racer, for the love of god don't start with an '80+ CB650, the frame shape and overall stance of the bike is all wrong and you'll hate yourself.
I'll definitely take you up on that offer some time this summer, I really need to get my shit together. I've been in school so long I forgot that it ends eventually and that I should be prepared for that.
You know a wheel is ugly when Jim says it looks better all black. :D2
I have Baruh, he's honestly one of the best professors I've ever had, the material is just a lot to handle as quickly as it's presented in a summer course.
And I do need to start preparing for life after school, I...
Getting there, one year left with two light semesters (could have finished this fall, but I have to stay for senior design anyway so I spread out the last two years). Taking vibrations now, kinda tough since it's been two years since I've taken any calc.
How many kids are you guys up to...
Y'all can suck it, I love this color scheme.
Not cafe style, more scrambler/street tracker with the dual seat, riser bars, and adventure-touring tires. I'm hoping to get this thing to be a reliable commuter that I can tear up some dirt roads and fire roads with if I feel so inclined...
I've kept the thing upright so far, put about 500 miles on it I believe. The head had to come off to replace a broken cam chain tensioner bolt which killed about two weeks of riding.
It also took a while to get the charging system and carbs sorted out, but they're both working well enough...
The looks on people's faces when they hear "pssssshhhh... scccchhhhhhhhh" and see that its a moron on a scooter dragging frame are pretty priceless.
No, not the truck. That'd be stupid.
Last summer I drank a lot of beer and made this, just got around to taking a picture of it today.
Ok, this is stupid too.
