Helmets are mandatory here. Ive only rode my bike without a helmet once, and I drove WAY slower than was probably necessary.

Because its a DD id say get the ARB or Eaton E-locker. You'll need to have an air source for the ARB as well if you dont have one already.
Another option would be a DIY locker( Lock right, Quik lok, Aussie locker) which are way easier to install as you dont have...
I have a blue point 3/8" and a Snap-on 3/4" and used to have a craftsman 1/2". All work well, but if its something you'll use on a regular basis invest a little extra and get a good quality one.
I never went into post secondary education. I always figured real world knowledge was worth twice what you might learn in a classroom. Book smarts only get you so far in todays economy IMHO.

Take your 360 and stroke it out to 390. Just swap out connecting rods is all you have to do IIRC
The 390 was factory rated 50 - 100bhp higher than the 360
