What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Ya... The 18 watt ones were nice, the 27's are fwonking awesome. You almost need shades back there now. This was with the old lights: DSCN0555 par KJ4VOV, on ipernity

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Replaced the rear 18 watt LED floods with a pair of 27 watt LED floods.

Check the RPO codes in the glovebox then match 'em up with the list that's on here somewhere (technical library I believe) to see what the interior color was called.

Ummm... but you were ON your phone when you wrote that, so why didn't you upload the photos, since they're on your phone and your were using the phone to post? :wtf:

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Hell, that was almost 5 years ago now. One person tried fighting it on the basis that it was just to generate revenue, and not for safety, and lost when DC (this is in DC up near the Capitol Building) got an engineer to state that because of the light/dark transition going into the tunnel there...

Was that a statement, question or an offer? Hard to tell without punctuation. :D2

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Paid it years ago. No sense in fighting it when it was a known speed trap (speed drops from 55 to 50 for about 1/2 mile, with the camera right in the middle and the first 50mph sign just inside a freaking tunnel, so you can't really see it when it's bright sun). Others have tried to fight it...

Fan Squeak - 99 GMC Sierra

Re: Fan Squeak Pretty easy to replace and probably not too expensive.

Your choice really. I've used the Krylon on a few things here and been pleased with the results, but have no experience with the GM dye at all.

Probably not. You might get close but you'll almost never get an exact match on something that old that's been exposed to sunlight and who knows what else. Better to plan on not being able to match it and pick a color that works well with your interior.

I just like doing things right the first time. :)

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Missed a spot. :D2 Seriously though, it needs a little more cleaning where the shaft comes through the casting. You can see gum and varnish built up there in the second picture, and that's where it will bind when it builds up again.

Just wash it down good, using a good soap/degreaser, rinse it two more times than you think is "good enough", let it air dry in the sun, then, just before you shoot it with paint give it a wipe down with some alcohol. Spray 9 works excellent for the cleaning, but use it outdoors and try not to...

I don't believe so. I know from following his thread that this was his first attempt at fiberglass modding. He's done 3 other Blazer restorations before starting on his current one, and this one looks to be the best yet but he's still working on it. LINK...

That depends... How much money you willing to spend? While you have the column down would be the perfect time to replace the multi-function stalk (turn signals, wipers, high beams, etc.) because those things are a mother to replace and a very common part to fail. They're pricey though...

    Haulmark Enclosed 6 X 10 Bumper Pull

Everything I've heard about Haulmark trailers has been positive, so I think you made a good choice. And you're well on the way to making it into exactly the rig you need for your business.

    Dallas GA Roll overs!

Okay, that just scares the crap out of me on so many different levels... Spectators camped out right up to the edge of the course, with almost no protection from flying parts or vehicles. No trained rescue or emergency crews in evidence. Spectators getting down on the track and extracting...

    Paint your tail lights black!

This is true, but I leave it up to others to debate if that is a good thing or a bad thing. On the one hand, not enforcing laws makes people think they can "get away" with breaking a law (and then if they do get busted they cry "but everyone does it") or, worse yet, people are ignorant of it...

    Paint your tail lights black!

Not unless you got hit coming out of the inspection shop. All that inspection "proves" is that during the inspection procedure your vehicle met the state requirements. Nothing more. You could pass inspection and have a bulb burn out as you got to the street, and now you no longer meet the...

    Paint your tail lights black!

No, not at all. I'm pointing out that, just like there's no such thing as being "a little bit pregnant" there's no such thing as being "a little illegal". The lights might function just fine, maybe even exceed all the Federal standards, but until DOT signs off on them they're not legal and a...

    Paint your tail lights black!

Not all that smart actually. The last time I checked (a few months ago) there were no aftermarket LED bulbs that were DOT approved for retrofitting. Even if they work perfect, and you can see 'em clearly, you could still end up in the same position as the guy who got sued. There's a lot of...

    Sunshield Suggestions?***Updated post #25

I know a cop in NYC, unless she's retired by now, who would love you. :D2 She was as anti-tint as they come, because she once got shot at by a guy in a back seat, behind tint, that she didn't see. After that she went on a tint vendetta. And you did not want to argue with her over getting the...

    Sunshield Suggestions?***Updated post #25

Re: Sunshield Suggestions? AFAIK (and I could very well be wrong) that's illegal in every state. Side windows, that's different, but the actual front windshield... that's a different story.
