Lights give problem to radio signal?!

It is entirely possible though that it's RF from the bulbs themselves. Any type of electrical arcing gives off a considerable amount of RF. (Early Morse code sets were "spark gap" transmitters - which is exactly what it sounds like) HID bulbs work by causing a high voltage arc between two...

Lights give problem to radio signal?!

Okay, a fast way to diagnose it is to take a small portable AM/FM radio, tune it to the same frequency you're getting the noise at on the truck radio, then use it as a portable "sniffer" to check the ballasts. If you don't get the static on the portable than it's coming into the radio via the...

    Rigid LED Light Bars

Yeah, high power LEDs like that get a lot hotter than you'd think. I carry a CREE P4 300lm penlight in my pocket these days and it somehow got switched on while I was driving. It got hot enough to give me a first degree burn on my thigh in the shape of the flashlight.

    Rigid LED Light Bars

They can get pretty hot though. I'd be cautious putting them close to anything plastic.

    Rigid LED Light Bars

Yeah, these are some of the best currently on the market, so the price is through the roof. A little judicious shopping on eBay though will find you some Chinese imports that are almost as good, at a tenth of the price.

    Does anyone know about LED's?

Your first concern would have to be towards a housing that could dissipate the amount of heat generated by such an LED, which can be quite a bit. You'll also need to make it watertight and somewhat shockproof. Then comes the focusing of the beam, but how you do that will depend upon the type...

    Does anyone know about LED's?

And you can tell how many LEDs are on the roll because it says 60 LED/m (60 per meter) and it's a 5 meter long roll. You can tell the color from the CCT WW (warm white) designation. I hope I'm not sounding patronizing or condescending. That's not my intent. I just want to give clear and...

    Does anyone know about LED's?

On the package they're rated as 5-6 lumens each, so about 1,500-1,800 lumens total. Typical household incandescent bulbs put out approximately 14 lumens per watt, so a typical 60 watt bulb puts out around 860 lumens, or about half the total of your 300 LED string. But, because your string is...

    Does anyone know about LED's?

They're rated for 12vdc so they should work, even though your typical vehicle voltage is actually around 13.8 They're warm white in color and not all that bright. The entire roll of 300 will about equal a 60w lightbulb.

    $4 gas coming - Those #%$&$%*

Well, the loan wasn't only for the truck. It was also to cover our moving expenses when we bought the house. We'd gotten along fine with just the wife's truck before that because she didn't need it to get to work. At the new place she needs it to drive to the train station 6 miles away so we...

    $4 gas coming - Those #%$&$%*

Actually, mine is a diesel too, and while the truck is paid off (bought it for cash), the wife informed me last week that she's still making payments on the loan she took to buy the darn thing four years ago. That will get paid off as soon as we do our taxes this year.

    Back up camera

I need to get one for my truck soon. Some fwonktard pulled up close behind me the other day right after I got in the truck. As far as I knew there was nothing behind me, because there was nothing there 30 seconds before when I climbed in, and he was so close I couldn't see him in my mirrors...

    $4 gas coming - Those #%$&$%*

Yeah, it took me forever to convince the wife that driving 10-15 miles out of her way to save 4 cents per gallon with an 18 gallon tank (that never goes below 1/4 before she fills it, so essentially a 13 gallon fillup) does not save any money.

    Heater Question

Whatever you do, don't try to move the blend door by hand. If you do it will break and have to be replaced.
