What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

So I've had a chance to drive a few places that pissed me off with the "Ranchos"...The 5100s are a massive improvement in axle control. Even my wife commented on how much better the backend handled with them. Can't wait to get the fronts on this thing now too!

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

We did look at a few, but they're way over what we're looking to do right now. and for all the extra money and size, didn't really give us much more than what we went with: Coachmen Freedom Express Blast 301bldsle. 35 ft pin to bumper, 10k gvwr, 7k empty.

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

I'll try to remember to get video of the fronts before i put them in. Haven't towed big yet, I'll probably be picking up the new trailer the week after next. I've been out of town for most of the last month, so haven't really done much with it.

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Installed the du-ha and rear bilstein 5100s. I really should have taken a video showing the compression and rebound difference between the 5100s and the "Ranchos". It's amazing. Now i just need the fronts to show up.

Probable upgrade time (Karl gots a new truck)

pretty sure they're 8.5" wide...looking at those 12.5" tires on Scott's, i'd say that seems about right.

Those are definitely some fat bastards! :) They look good, though i hadn't been thinking of going that wide on this truck..but now that I see you got a 305/55 on there...Mickey Thompson does make the MTZ in that size...and the answer is ALWAYS Mickey Thompson MTZ. :D

Thanks! I'll probably leave this alone until the warranty runs out as far as deleting/tuning, but I'll look into the lift pump. I'm all for filtration and reliability. :)

Ha! gonna be a long wait...unlike the Dmax, I'm not even shopping 5th wheels. :D Still out in Illinois, but I've been window shopping like mad while i'm out here. Can't wait to get back home and get serious. PS. pricing on trailers is batshit crazy. Nothing like a $15-20K swing on the...

The 5100s would help a little with that, I imagine. It would keep the axle under control longer before it got silly.

most any thing will hop over a washboard. I'm talking about getting wheel hop after a small bump or two, like an expansion joint on the highway, etc. It sounds super anal and it is, but given the amount of time I spent tuning suspensions on my race car back in the day, I'm rather sensitive to it...
