What did you do to your truck today?

Drove it to get medicine for my mom (she's got a cold). I knew you had to show I.D. to get Psuedofed, but I didn't realize you also had to be 18 to get cough medicine (makes sense though). Sure am glad I'm 21 now!!! :) Found a coolant leak! :fume: Also found out that this thing must have...

    Opinions Please re: IFS diff

I do have the 3-button t-case, but I can't weld (there's a sticky on ZR2USA for the mod; read through it), and would just rather go with the 231 and use it's shifting mechanism and other stuff. I thought the point of the 231 was for the manual shift and that it was stronger. :dunno: From what...

    4L60E Transmission Rebuild Kits

I can see replacing solenoids, but probably not the wiring harness unless there's already a problem with it. Scott, I think he said he was having some problems with the trans in his green K1500. :dunno:

    4L60E Transmission Rebuild Kits

I think this is the place I was looking at before when I was just researching electrical parts. Not sure about check balls... http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/4L60E_4L65E_4L70E_transmission_parts_4L60E_4L65E_4L70E_s/642.htm

What did you do to your truck today?

I already have aftermarket lenses that I want to use that don't have the fog light, but there is a flat spot on them. If there only was a way to drill and cut the proper whole and tabs....

    Help!

My old S10 use to have the "Service Engine Soon" light come on only when I was in 5th gear and doing highway speeds. It would never come on in town. Is yours anything like that? If you want a Bosch sensor, find the part number on Summit then go on Amazon. That's how I bought all 7 of mine.

    Supercharged guys!!

What? You guys sell Whipple? If I woulda known that, I would have asked you guys for parts! Matt, how'd the court date go? Any new news on the F/I choice?

What did you do to your truck today?

Rollin' like a GMT400 now! I'd like to do this on my ZR2, but I don't know how you'd drill a hole and get it to have the right tabs for the socket to fit in (since there's only 1 bulb in it). Nice! Those side areas might work good for putting sand in for the winter (something I've...

Thanks Gary!!!! Great article! Definitely getting bookmarked and printed out. I already have an iron front diff (since mine's a 5spd) and I have a Bravada shaft in my possession (it'll be going in next year). I'd love to do a 231 T-case swap (to a manual one; and eliminate all the...

Thanks Gary! That PowerTrax was the only one that came up on Summit. Dennis, would that be too harsh on the front end? (I don't know if that's considered an LSD or locker)

    Opinions Please re: IFS diff

Dennis probably knows something neither one of us does. :dunno: I'm just curious. I know on the S-series, the idler arm attaches to the frame with just a bracket. On my K1500, there's a grease-able joint/fitting actually (which is kinda nice). I just wish the Tru-Trac was made in a 7.25". :(...

I Actually Have Pictures This Time

I agree that it is a better front end. Tobias, what's so great about the GMC though? The ability to de-badge it and have no signs of it showing? :dunno:

    Opinions Please re: IFS diff

Is there that big of a difference between the S-series, K1500, and K2500 idler arm? Would a TruTrac be as harsh? Oops. Guess I got it backwards then. Still, I don't think the TruTrac is available in a 7.25". I think guys have used the 8.25" front IFS setup before in a S-series, but I'm not sure...

Gary, I'll be watching where this goes. Did you have a locker/posi/limited slip in your Blazer? I was leaning towards a TruTrac for both trucks (up front and in the back), but I don't think it is available for the diff in the ZR2. I know my Z71 is 7.25 up front, but I think the ZR2/S-series is...

    OHHH.....PENGUIN!

But wouldn't that require an electric fuel pump? That's what's actually nice about carb'd, you only need a mechanical fuel pump.

    OHHH.....PENGUIN!

You couldn't  It would slide downhill no matter what and possibly crush you (like the 'Hoe does).

    OHHH.....PENGUIN!

I wonder how many gallons per hour it sucks down. A slightly lighter, 350 based unit might be better suited for my needs.... :D Wonder if I could put a Whipple or other S/C on it easily. :naughty:

That's what I thought the difference was.
