Drove it to work. Then to the GF's. Then took her to work and to look at her car ('01 Cavalier) that wouldn't start the night before. Got the car running and back to her place. Then went and got my truck and drove it to her place. So the truck has been driven 4 times already. I still have to go...

Whoa!! Fred got dirty! :willy: I'm surprised JIM isn't having a heart attack right now because of it! :jester:
Attempted to recharge the A/C system. Seems to have worked, but I think I need to add a little more.
Had to drive 30min into MN to buy the can of 134a; can't sell it in WI. Got the 18oz can for $24 that came with a gauge and short hose. Got it home and the tiny little stem in it was broke so...
Well.....it's better than the pedal going to the floor.
So far, so good. The wheel is still dry on the backside so I'm thinking it's gonna be good! :)
Sorry, I think I posted the link to the Pass. caliper on accident. I meant the Driver's caliper and flex line.
Driver's caliper - link
flex hose - link
I think I'll just do both. Might as well.
I probably will bleed all the brakes though. I highly doubt the brake fluid has ever been changed...
Alright, the flex line seems OK, but under the caliper is wet. I'm assuming this means the caliper is bad?
If so, should I just replace both while I'm at it?
Caliper is $40 (after $30 core) (link to caliper) and the flex is $16. (link to flex)
Good thing I have my motorcycle and my GF's car right now! The weather is suppose to be nice into next week so I have little time.
I'm going to take the tire off now.
Some troubleshooting.....
Filled the reservoir.
Started the truck.
Pumped the hell out of the brakes for at least 30sec.
Pedal got a little firmer, but not by much.
Vacuum line is bone dry.
When I shut it off, the pedal firms up almost instantly. (not sure if that helps at all)
It appears I...
I'll check that too. (the vacuum line)
I haven't had to replace one of those in a while, but anything is better than replacing the master or booster!
Already filled it up. Planning on looking at it either tomorrow or the next day.
Thanks for all the tips guys!! :tmc:
Got in the ZR2 and took it for a spin this evening and heard a "whoosh" sound when I pushed the brake pedal. It went pretty far down and pretty easily. This truck had a much better pedal than my Z71 ever had so I noticed this pretty quick.
Checked the fluid level and the front half of the...
Not truck related, but yesterday afternoon/evening I drove my GF up to Minneapolis in her Cavalier so she could fly to Arizona and spend some time with her somehow-related family. Car did pretty good and got 29.5mpg up (doing 70; stiff cross-wind) and 32mpg coming back (doing 65; less wind)...
Yesterday I helped a buddy install the new injector design (to go from CPI to MPFI) in his '97 K2500 5.7L. It went pretty good.
Drove the truck to work. It got rained on for the first time this year. We got up to 57...for the second day!
UPDATE
I don't have my marine intake back yet. I'm not in a hurry. Haven't started on the 0411 swap yet either.

Went on another parts run!
Picked up a diesel front bumper off a '96 K2500-LD (had 6-lug wheels) for $100. I've been looking for this one (with license plate...
My '94 RCSB 2.2L 5spd S10 got 25mpg in the summer and 20-21mpg in the winter.
My '98 ECSB 4.3L 5spd ZR2 gets 16-17mpg in the winter (that's all I've driven it) and that's maybe 65% in-town. The best I've gotten is 20mpg doing 65mph and all interstate.
A buddy had a ZR2 just like mine except it...
Found a matching front diff and rear axle out of a '92 K2500 6-lug with 3.73 gears and a posi. Gonna go look at them on Sunday. :fingersx: I figure I can compare the front diff with mine and at least see if there are any differences.
Gonna have to search hard for the other parts I'm looking for...
