Thats great to hear. I'm glad everything is going good for you. I picked up an 85' Suburban as a project truck a few months back, shes not pretty, but she has talent. Other then that not much new, just working and trying to save money. Had to take a semester off from school because I lost my...

    Oil for my Trailblazer

Yes. Thats one of the strongest parts of the truck. Place the cup on the jack under the rear differential (pumpkin) and start jacking.

The "I own a Truck" Club

Do you mean by 'own' that you have the title? Or just have the truck?

    Oil for my Trailblazer

On my trucks, I place the jack under the front cross member, jack it up, and then the Jack stands go one under each lower control arm. To rotate the tires though you really need 2 sets, but if your in a pinch, jack up the front and put them on stands. Then place the jack under the pumpkin on...

    Anyone use Lucas oil?

I've never used their oils but the power steering fluid they make works great. Quiets pumps right down and makes the steering more smooth. I've also tried their fuel cleaning additive but didnt notice any difference.

    Oil for my Trailblazer

Unless you live in a really cold climate, stick with the 5W-30. The first number (5W) in a non straight weight oil is its ability to flow when cold. The lower the number, the better it flows. So, in the cold (32*F or colder) a 5W will flow better then a 10W, and a 10W will flow better than a...

    Any Detroit owners here?

Thats great. Did you do the work yourself? How is the lift powered, a PTO or an external generator?

    Any Detroit owners here?

The first two lines of the site; If you want to split hairs, your partially correct. Yes, GM built the engines, but they were designed by Detroit. Kind of like during WWII when a number of different companies built Jeeps. It was still a Jeep, even if it was built by Hudson, Packard, Dodge...

    Down in the dumps...

No worries. I've had the same problem with my LB7. The bad news is the valve is not serviceable, you have to replace it. Good luck.

    Any Detroit owners here?

I am sorry my friend, they are not GM, they are built by Detroit Diesel. GM did own Detroit for a number of years but did sell their stake in the company a long time ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Diesel_V8_engine

    Any Detroit owners here?

Just curious if there are any other Detroit Diesel owners on the site. So, who here has a 6.2L or a 6.5L? And what vehicle do you have it in?

    Down in the dumps...

If it leaks again, check the CCV valve and lines, if they are clacked or plugged, you will get a persistent little drip.
