You are correct. And a 2900 pound pin is nothing with air bags. I have violated the GVWR sticker many times. Go by your tire ratings. That rear axle can take it all EDIT: Are you thinking of installing the universal rails in the bed to mount the 5th wheel to, or the pucks?

Our Tahoe spent at least half of its 100k miles in Auto while we had it. I changed the Tcase to Allison Transynd ATF at 20K and changed it annually. Never had a single issue other than the switch in the dash and the programming for it

Ahhh...I missed that. I get it, though. Owning a modern diesel is great, until it isn't. If you have to replace a HP pump, injectors, VGT Turbo, or aftertreatment, your ownership experience just went in the toilet.
