It will show all codes that occurred recently, like within the last 50?? cranks IIRC.

In my friend's case, the CEL would come and go, but the code was stored in memory. Pull the codes regardless of if the CEL is on or not.

One of my friend's 2004-5 F150 5.4l had the exact same symptoms when one of the ignition coils went on the blink.

Okay, it looks like the stock overlay won't work on the Escalade cluster (it clips the six on the tachometer). So should I just go for the chrome overlay or get the satin Hummer overlay like this: I like the chrome overlay, but it seems out of place with no other chrome in the interior.

I will likely be getting my cluster from a member on www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com that is a dealer for Advanced Auto Electronics. They can get the Denali, SS, Escalade, Hummer, and Platinum gauges for the 03-06 trucks, and Denali or Escalade gauges for the 99-02 trucks...
