Brian,that storage box next to the PCM can be removed & the battery tray from a diesel truck can be put in it's place.I noticed a batt. tray in Grumpy's burb which gave me the idea for this upgrade.

I was lucky and found an early '90s one ton dually 454 at a Pick A Part with all the parts needed.It had the tray,the charcoal canister relocation bracket,the solenoid & all the wiring necessary.Like I said,I got lucky.Some fabbing was necessary for the tray mounting bolts but was easily done...
I've added a couple of do-dads recently you might be interested in.I added a trans temp gauge(with sensor in the pan) and an aux. battery.The battery is mainly to power the winch but also have the two cheapy off-road lights connected to it as well.When I get the time I'm going to connect the CB...
I know what you mean re: the clear coat....the hood and part of the top of the burb is looking pretty shabby as well :(

Finished up the aux. battery installation.Completed the wiring to and from the relay,installed a battery and checked it with a mm.,seems to be working fine.I connected the winch & off-road lights so far.The winch pulled about a .5 volt(no real load on it though,I was only pulling on the cable...
Not sure if you have a compressor but this is the one I have and love it :thumbs:
Also,I put a flexible hose on it.I've had it for maybe fifteen years and still working great.
Don't remember paying $50 for it though :dunno:
