Its really not that bad. There is one guy who did it in the past and one who is about to do it for his son's truck.

Don't waste your time doing an Allison when a built 4l80E will handle just about anything you can throw at it. You can forge your 5.3 but you will need to run the thing completely ragged to get the power you will need out of it. It's much easier and about the same price to go with a forged 6.0
If we are really talking balls to the walls 9 second truck, I would think about upgrading from your 5.3 to a forged 6.0. You will need a built transmission as well as well as some safety equipment if you want to run at a track.
9.5 second truck in the 1/4???? Yeah you will need a LOT more money than 12k. You will need to make a lot of power to make anywhere close to 9s in the quarter. I thought you were just trying to smoke a GT500? You will only need a low 12 second truck for that.
Just trying to figure out if you DD'd it still cause many people say the maintenance of a turbo'd rig is higher than one with a nice Magnacharger or Whipple setup. I would see if you can get a used TVS setup and then add your supporting mods.
Apparently the story behind this is that this guy has too much money and has two raptors. His other one is being built to the hilt and this will be used as spare parts.
Cause no matter how many times it snows in MN, there are always dumbasses who can't drive in it. I am thankful for AWD so I can leave those toolbags in the dust.
