No clue on the rear end but one of our work trucks has the 8.1L with a 6 speed stick, that is a blast to drive but one of the foreman has it now so I don't get to drive it anymore. Depending how you drove it and how many tools you had on that one could get into the double digits sometimes but...
My buddy has a 60 carcass sitting in the shop right now offering for sale very cheap otherwise it's going to the scrap pile. Came out of his 78 F250 but it wasn't the factory axle for that truck, we think it's out of an 80's F250 because it was a couple inches narrower than the factory axle for...
When I had the 08 Ram my local dealership said they would recalibrate for the new tire size but they were going to charge close to $100 to do it. Might as well buy a tuner at that point.
Agreed on the proper strap, didn't pay attention to that part of the initial post. I have a couple straps that I can interchange, short 12 footer is really just used for pulling logs through the woods rated at 8,000 straight lift. For pulling I use a 30 foot fiberglass rated at 30 ton straight...
My 97 was too beat to hell to determine the cause but it definitely had a knock. My 00 Yukon had it very slightly when it was balls cold but it cleared up within 30ish seconds. Haven't really driven the new one that much since it's been cold so I haven't noticed if it does or not.
Haven't tried fitting mine on the front but now that I hear your problem I know they probably won't fit so I'm interested to see what you come up with. Had the same problem on the back, the holes on the hitch for the safety chains were too small so I grabbed an old receiver and bored it out a...
4wd takes the fun out of it. Last year in one particularly bad snow storm we had rigs getting stuck all over the place. One time they got stuck in an unplowed road so one of the medics got out and hoofed it 1 1/2 blocks with the jump bag and O2 tank. Another rig got stuck on another unplowed...
Nice, you guys will enjoy that. We just got our first Type IV this year and having the huge box is awesome but I could do without the rest of the rig being so damn big. I like a full mod on a van chassis.
Fortunately they have now abandoned the whole mini mod idea and are buying used brauns...
Nice, I wish we had that in ours. I usually end up following a fire truck so they can get 'em all changed over for me.
For anyone else the opticom sends a signal to traffic lights to turn all other lights red and turn it green in the direction you're coming from.
Pictures make it hard to tell is that a full mod or a mini? We went on a kick of getting mini's for a while and they are a pain to work out of, only difference in the mini's and a van was that the vans went faster. Who made the mod? I don't recognize it.
My dodge was too tall to fit in the garage, the chevy might make it in but I don't think the rafters are high enough to rig a block and tackle to lift it off the truck at all. That was my first thought. Sounds like a good excuse to build a bigger garage though.
Looks good on there, if I could figure out an easier way to remove it by myself I would probably put one on my truck. Problem is you can't haul anything tall with one on and it's a pain using a forklift to load it with a shell on.
