Doesn't look like much progress but there has been a ton of welding and grinding going on. All of the notch pieces are in place and welded, just dressing up the welds to make things real smooth.
Similar story here but a '67 F200 which had been my grandfathers truck, then my dad then me for a short period of time until I bought a Chevy.
Love me some bump side Fords.
The parts are all pieces of a kit custom built by Porterbuilt Fabrication in Arizona. The front stuff all has instructions online but the rear kit is just a pile of parts. So it does require a little knowledge in how to assemble a huge rear notch. There is only a handful of the rear kits built...
Got an order of AN fittings in, now I can continue running the air lines.
Started working the passenger side frame rail into place.
Pie cut the upper and lower flanges.
Rail moved over and the transition piece clamped in.
Hours of welding ahead of me...
Alright, I got one side roughed in and tacked in place. Moved the frame rail over a little by pie cutting the upper and lower flange of the rail, then gently pushing the rail into alignment with the notches. Inserted the transition piece and tacked it in, then cut the excess frame rail at the...
Shit got real today! There's no turning back now....
Notches tacked in and bridge is bolted up.
Got to start working the frame rails inward and get the transition pieces welded in and boxed. This is gonna take a while.
Man Jeff sorry to read that. As much as we all like to **** with each other I really hate seeing that this is happening.

Thanks fellas.
Went to the local metal shop today and got a couple of sticks of 2x2 tubing. Fired off a couple of emails to Porterbuilt with a couple of questions and got a reply within a few minutes confirming what I was thinking. With that boost in confidence I began jigging up the frame in...
Well still banging away at it, sway bar bushings arrived yesterday afternoon so I got that mounted after I finished with the driver side shock mount.
Area cut out with the factory bump.
On the ground, made up a couple of temporary air lines so I could air it up and move it around...
One of those days were I got wrapped around the axle, so to speak!
The old factory shock mount location is a big bump on the frame rail. It bugged me so I cut it out, welded a patch over it and ground it down.
Got the new shock mount positioned and welded it in place rather than bolting...
Began working on the front shock mounts today, ordered these mounts from Summit.
They have a 9/16" stud so I drilled the 1/2" holes out and mounted them up.
I wasn't happy with the alignment of the shock. Too much angle in the rubber bushings and the shock housing was hitting the...
Back at it!
Spent some time installing the steering rack notches and steering rack. When slamming these trucks you have to notch the frame for the steering rods or they would hit the frame when aired out.
Marked a centerline.
Flushed the notch and filled a few holes and removed some factory...
Clean it up, use a new sharpening stone to "stone" the surface of the manifold to a true surface. Put a very light film of high temp silicone on the surfaces and button it up without the stud.
Try to re-center the drill hole. Use a small bit and try to get it centered up, step that bit up...
Friday night when I got home from work my wife was on my ass to mow the grass around the area where I have truck parts in the backyard. Mainly the grass under the saw horses where the frame rails are sitting. I've been putting it off but since she asked nicely I took the time to move everything...
I finally have something of substance to post, so I plan to keep it updated as I go or until Shaggy pulls the plug on this shindig!
But seriously, there is an awesome forum specifically for these trucks, Project: "ResuWrecktion" '71 Custom Deluxe C-10 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC...
Wrapped up the bracing of the fender/ cowl mount and squirted some primer on it.
Started capping off the wire gutter channel across the firewall to give it a cleaner look. More to do but it's a start.
Now I made it to the driver side cowl air box and fresh air vent. I started cutting...
Man that's a good question, unfortunately I have no idea if it even exists. If you do happen to run across an improved setup please post what you find in here. Thanks
