    A little more oil on the cam chain won't hurt none ... I'm installing a M-77 oil pump (Not Hi-Volume) with the optional blue Corvette pressure relief spring .. Bumps the oil pressure up bout 10 psi over the stock pump ... The hole that I drilled into the NPT 1/4" plugs is .040" Also...

    Done with the boring .. Need to buy a plate to use for honing .. Being I have cast iron heads, going with a cast iron plate .. Lot of folks says the plate is overkill and unnecessary ?? Dang thing is not cheap by no means .. I do want to have great ring seal, so I'm saving up to get one ...

    Time to bore .. Was going to do .030" .. But 496 sounds better than 489 ... Rollover time .. If ya going to be a bear, be a Big Bear !! Could have went with a longer stroke (4.375") would jump the cubes to 520 inch ... With the .060" overbore .. (Not going to be that big of a bear)

    Got some grinding to do and back in the stand it'll go .. Not all that sure I want to bore to .060" over .. .030" would clean up the bores since they are STD ..

    Found a nice out of the way spot to mount TCI's TPS unit ... Nailed it to a unused threaded hole at the back of the head .. Did a test to make sure it's working good ... Also upgrading the connector to a waterproof one ..

    Got a flanged sleeve coming from LA Sleeve ... Be nice to have a block that don't need work ... (Outside of boring oversize) But, I'm cool with this block since it is the last year of the Mark IV's ... Makes it kind of special !

    Hoping that bad hole will clean up at .060" over ... Soon to find out ... Ain't no biggie to pop a sleeve in it if it don't clean up ... Well Poo .. Found a crack !! Will be needing to order a sleeve ...

    Well ... So much for no damage in the bore ... There's still hope cause it's a scar and not a crack ... The bore is still at the standard size of 4.250" .. In order to see 496 cubes the bore will see a .060" overbore .. That .060" just might get under the scar ? If not, going to get a sleeve...

    So far so good ... It had a piston blow up, don't see that it did any damage to the block .. Going to wash it up and get a better look ..

    Found 2 used aftermarket stick supports .. They came from a Hot Rod buddy that has a world of stuff .. Might be able to use one at the header ?? Not sure who the manufacturer is, both has been chromed .. We'll see how it works out, I'll have the 4-bolt main block in the shop tomorrow...

    It's real close, been looking for a junk dipstick to rob the support bracket off of .. Will be bolted to a header bolt and welded to the stick .. Will also be making a support that will bolt to the alt at the top of the fill tube and dipstick ... Might do 2 support up there for added support...

    Found a inner stick made for a Ford F-350 ... It was perfect, didn't need to cut on it .. 6 qts in the pan put the full mark in the middle of the zone ... Dang lucky finding that stick

    Redid the top bend on the tube .. Added another bend ... That got rid of the sharp bend that more than likely be a problem for the stick .. Did find a uni that worked well in the tube .. But is about 3 inches to short .. Bummer ... Found one that's long enough and seems like it's going...

    My idea for the weird oil fill is to keep me from climbing on the truck .. Being a lifted truck makes it hard to get to the motor/trans for service work .. The oil fill tube is soon to have company .. Homemade dipstick will be mounted to the fill tube once I get around to making it .. Speaking...
