    Oil pump pickup is installed, added two tack welds to keep it from falling out of the pump ... Waiting on a baffle that keeps oil from climbing up the back of the pan under hard acceleration .. Be here at the end of the week along with a few other items ...

    Been busy on the 496" Sat the crank in and checked the clearances on the mains .. Got a little over 0.002" ... Main cap bolts torqued to 110, crank spins real nice .. Crank oil scraper was a PITA to fit .. Mounted the windage tray, some fitting was needed to get the oil pan sitting flush on...

    The shorty filter will be used only for doing the break-in ... After that's done and over the High in Zinc break-in oil will be drained out, fresh oil and the 2 qt filter will be in play ... Since the truck has been lifted, got all kinds of room for that monster oil filter ..

    Had to go to a AN-10 hose cause that's what the cooler comes with ... Just a little backing up ..

    Been looking for a motor oil cooler for the Binder ... Tried to buy a used one off of Facebook Marketplace ... Three coolers that I liked was there .. After trying to pay using PayPal, none of the three could be nailed down .. So I gave up on finding a used cooler .. Got a new one...

    C-10 496" owner wanted O.S. SS valves. Heads was petty clean, but now that I'll be all over them ... PP heads are being worked for the oversize valves .. Some burr action will take place in the bowls for blending ...

    Ran up on a set of BBC 14092360 PP heads, 86 to 90 truck stuff ... They're buildable, I don't have a need for them at the moment .. Will do a valve job on em and later on find a home for the critters ... The Gen VI block looks like it might be buildable ... A .030" overbore is needed ...

    Back to the 496 cid build that will be breathing fire in a 62 C-10 ... Ordered parts are showing up .. Nailed down a pump to match the shine on the oil pan, timing cover will follow suit ... He's doing a mighty fine job on the oldie ... Got a 2-1/2" drop kit for it ...
