Update ... Words from the new owner .. The transmission worked perfectly. Won money first time out ! Dang old THM 400 is like a Timex watch ... 30+ years it was in my truck, no clue how many miles was put on it ??

Change one thing, and ten others will be needed to make that one work .. ! Had to buy another oil pan cause the one I had was made for circle track racing .. Had bat-wings sticking out ... Wouldn't allow for the motor to trans strut rods .. Problem solved .. Even got room to run a super...

Since GM thought it was a good idea to use a strut rod that ties the transfer case to the motor, I figured why not .. Came up with a Oem strut rod made for the THM 350 trans and the NP 203 transfer case .. Being I got the weird going on with having installed a 4L85E and two adapters to bolt...

Took a long time to see all the parts come together .. 70 year old parts are getting hard to find these days ...

Waiting for the cruise control to show up, need to run the wires down inside the column ... The adapter extension will be somewhat time consuming to make happen, after the union been accomplished it will be powder coated and the tops of the grooves polished ... Then powder coated again with a...

Rethought my idea on making the extension for the adapter ... Was going to extend the adapter with using the Caddy's metal sleeve .. Think it would look better with having the grooves all the way down the adapter ... Some machine work will happen in order to marry the two ... Hoping to...

Hope so ... Giving it my best shot ... The steering column is bout done .. Was needing to run the wires for the cruise control down inside it ... Got a Dakota Digital unit on order ...

Cool ... Got the factory knob to work on the aftermarket delay switch ... Down to one more item for having the dashboard done ...

Well, it's going to a new home .. The TH 400 been in the Binder for many years until the recent change to the fresh built overdrive .. I built it very Heavy Duty way back when and has served me well .. Here's where it's going ...

More work on the column .. This is the column's tilt lever .. In the end of the critter is a switch that will be working the power cowl vent.. ( The moment ya know, you have gone over the edge ! ) .. :lol:

Was hoping to see a better color match ... The wheel is very nice and well made ...

Does look slick as a minnow's peter .. ! Might repaint it flat black like the rest of the column has on it .. ?

Polished the grooves just to see if I liked the look ?? According to tracking the wheel will show up tomorrow .. Going to bolt the two together and make a call to keep the polish or paint over it ? ( Kind of digging it ... It's Groovy )

The adapter was made for 84-up 2 inch travel telescopic columns, the 75 Coupe De Ville column that I have chosen to used has 3 inches of travel, meaning there's a one inch gap ... Got some work to do making a sleeve to fill the gap ..

Should fit in really well ..
