Found a leak .. Power steering pump was dripping a drop every half hour .. Being the pump is 50 years old, time was for a rebuild kit .. Got lucky with having all the hard parts still serviceably ... Pump pulley came in, jumped to with installing it on the motor .. Encountered a problem...

Thanks, the effort is there ... Which is going to be put to the test with the A/C compressor belt .. ! What I think I'm seeing is the belt rubbing on the aftermarket aluminum water pump ? Will have a better look after the power steering pump pulley is installed and the belt is under tension ...

Eye balling the alternator belt showed it wasn't in line with the water pump pulley .. Been taking a cut on the spacer and the alternator pulley, creeping up on it .. Much better .. Most likely if I was using the stock alternator, pulley and fan the belt would track okay .. But those...

Water pump double belt pulley came in today, looks like the belt tracking may be okay .. Power steering pulley is in route .. Working on the radiator is going well .. Saw the bung off, making up a patch to weld in place ... Got a nice fit on the weld in patch, waiting for the 1-5/8"...

That's very good news, Clearwater got slammed ... So far 16 people has lost their lives ... Most deaths was due to Tornadoes spawned by "Milton" .. At the moment there are two more, in the making, that are in route to hit Florida ... Another from the Gulf and the other is in the Atlantic ...

Didn't get to do much work in the shop .. Power been off all day .. Was going to start in on moving the radiator's bung on the lower tank .. Without power for the shop vac to catch the cuttings from the cut decided to pack it in and head home .. Do hope the power will be on tomorrow ?? Power...

That was a rough one !! My area dodged the bullet with it making landfall about 100 miles south .. Still had big time wind & rain, lot of trees and power lines are down .. But for the most part we were lucky ..

Made the union on the steering wheel adapter ... A little polish job and some paint = done with that .. All but for putting the column back together ..

Small problem with the power steering pulley .. The one that was sent to me was a bolt-on ... What I needed was a press-on .. Called the company and told them the pulley was the wrong one, they said they don't have the press-on ... Not a biggie .. Found one on eBay .. Hoping the compressor...

Had a Mickey thrown into the soup with belt tracking on this motor !! All the pulleys had to be moved outboard 1/4" due to Milodon's cam gear drive that I installed a number of years ago ... Had to modify the compressor mount for this gear drive unit .. Took off a 1/4" from the backside and...

Thinking this is the belt layout ?? Two grooves on the water pump for the alternator and A/C compressor .. Two grooves for the power steering pump and compressor ...

Almost .. Needing two pulleys .. Should see the belts on it next week, pulleys have been ordered ..

Belt won't be on for a few days .. The pulleys that's on the motor will not work ... Needed double groove for the water and power steering pumps .. Got them on order .. Oh well ... Part of it. I guess .... Can't get in a no hurry building a Frankenstein ...

Kind of had the same thought ... The compressor is now installed .. The aftermarket compressor bracket needed some fine tuning .. Little grinding got it off the header & power steering bracket ... With the Milodon cam gear drive moving the pullies out a 1/4" caused for some adjustment to...

Hit a lick on getting the A/C compressor mounted .. Had to do some work to the power steering pump adjustment bracket .. It needed to be mounted flush on the header in order for the A/C compressor bracket to bolt up .. Made a extension to weld in the middle of the Oem power steering pump...

Do think the thought GM engineers had for the motor to transmission struts was to control flex between the two ... A lot of discussion on the use of these so called torque rods .. I can't see them moving around enough to hit the oil filter or the pan .. But I will keep a eye on em .. I'm...

Didn't loose much oil capacity, not that it would matter much cause the pan is a 7 qt. add the monster oil filter's 1.5 qt = 8.5 total .. Some work in the cosmetic department and it will be ready for the long ride ...

Been busy with installing the new oil pan ... The whole idea with acquiring this pan was to be able to run the motor mount to trans strut rods .. These bad-boys adds a little beef to the driveline ... Starter side was a plug & play deal ... Oil filter side not so ! The strut rod was...
