late 80s early 90s Ford line 6 2wd keeps blowing through coils. Bad enough to where you have to a extra in the truck so you dont get stranded. Any ideas on whats causing it to blow through coils?

There faulty spark plugs. In my 27 years in small engine repair and 10 years as a owner. I seen them come in a week after they fail from being replaced. Especially the gold tip champion plugs. When I say gold tip I mean the tip that plug wire hooks on the spark plug.

Champion plugs are trash in small engines. Too many problems with champion when using them in small engines.

Whats wrong with autolite spark plugs? I ve always used them in small engines with no issues also.

Ok I used autolite in the past in gm products with no issues.

I have have asked the same on couple volvo forums. There saying they never heard of ecm go bad on the s70. There known to go to 300 to 400k when properly maintained. They also said if the ecm was bad it wouldnt have started on carb cleaner because the ecm is talking to coil packs when cranking...

Had a diagnostics put on this and person who did it said it needed a computer. Person also sid these cars junk and are nothing but problems. I dk of what he said is true or he made up something so he didnt have to work on it. How can the computer be bad if it starts on carb cleaner spray?

Edit: Fuel pump not might be coming on. What i hear sound like the air bags are airing up when turning the key. Sound like coming from the dash.

2000 Volvo s70 v5 2.4 turbo Sweden model Gas gauge shows 1/4 tank of gas. Will start and run on carb cleaner but fuel pump still comes on when turning the key. Car has been sitting. PO abandoned this car and now im trying to get it running to drive. Car did run when PO last started it.

I bet shipping kills on something like that too.
