I never determined the location of the loose connection. I just left it alone... After reviewing the manual, I think 4 hi is all i will ever really need. I plan to check for codes whenever I change the differential fluid, but at this point I'm not complaining. Thanks for the help.

On a hunch, I went under the truck this afternoon and shook the crap out of the connections to the neutral safety switch, and, lo and behold, I git a nice green dash under N... I don't want to get it stuck in 4lo, so Im going to hold off and test it this weekend.
