The word "awkward" comes to mind second though. Just picture your average truck driver rolling out of that truck.

Looks futuristic. The scale they run at though, any improvement in efficiency adds up fast!

That concept is a step in the right direction. Freight rates aren't improving any time soon to compensate for higher fuel prices. Before I left my last company, increasing fuel mileage was one of the biggest drivers of increased profitability. We spent thousands (probably $1MM+) on improvements here and there to eek out every extra mpg that we could.

It's amazing the extra profit a single truck can make by improving fuel consumption by .5mpg. Now imagine a fleet of 3,000 trucks doing that.
