If it's been running rich for very long the cats could be jacked up too hurting mileage further.

Yeah I know it is fuel delivery related.....you're probably right

Has an amplifier been added to the stereo? Reason I ask is because I have seen (more than once) people mount an amp in the trunk and drill a screw into the gas tank. :fail:
Also, see what codes its tripping asap.

I'm gonna take it to autozone on Thursday. She works the next two nights at the hospital

Yeah... I need the codes!

I'll post them up when I find out what they are. :tmc:

Very true. The pre- cat on my wife's car (yes, Altimas have 2 catalytic converters )
was starting to get clogged and it popped a "catalyst efficiency " code. It was also getting kinda poor mileage. :dunno:

Jeff... check the fuel pressure regulator...
If the internal diaphragm starts leaking... it will suck fuel up thru the vacuum line right into the intake...
Pull the vacuum line and see if it is wet or if you can smell any fuel.
If you can smell fuel... it needs replacing

Well found out a big reason why she was getting bad gas mileage

Tires are shot! She has one new tire, and the other three are all done! Won't hold air and are damn near dangerous!

She's getting three installed to match up with the month old tire. One of the tires the one I've been filling up for here every few days till I could take it to the tire shop with her, had two nails in it. They were too close together to patch.

She doesn't put any money into this thing till it needs it. I'm glad she's finally getting that checked. I'm gonna have the guys at the shop scan the car to see the codes on Monday.

You need to educate her on the importance of tires. Probably the single most important thing on a vehicle to maintain.

Man, if you went and bought her a new set of tires with rotation, hazard, extended warranty, etc, I think you could get BJs for a year without hesitation.

You should invest, my brother.
