Chevy Screwed Me?

So about three weeks ago I factory ordered a 2012 silverado 5.3 Short Bed Standard Cab. I put a deposit down and the truck was going to be built...so I thought. I got a call from the dealership yesterday telling me that Chevy decided to close there plants early and they stopped making the 2012 trucks. This means if I were to keep the order It would be a 13 obviously and I wouldn't be receiving my vehicle till September the earliest! So with that they tell me they "found" the exact truck I ordered but it's a used 2009 with 40k on it. Same color I wanted and everything, so I started to think maybe this isn't such a bad idea I take a look at the used truck. It's on it's way to the dealership and I should be able to test drive it sometime midweek. Any ideas? I'm not in desperate need of a vehicle so i could wait but I rather not

I'd wait on the 13...but that's me!

I guess it comes down to the price they quote on the 09 for you to decide for sure

If you can wait for it, then wait for it.

No harm looking at the '09, or even doing a dealer search. Roadtrips are fun!

They gave me a ridiculous price of 20 grand. It's an LT but still, I KB'ed it and I got around the 17k range so unless I get it for that I guess i will wait.

Short box standard cab LTs ALWAYS draw more cash than blue book, especially if they have a 5.3. They are sought after.

Since you are in no hurry... unless they make you a really killer deal on the '09... I would wait and get the '13...

I don't agree that Chevy screwed you. Dealers are made aware of cutoff dates for orders well in advance. Sounds like your dealer wasn't paying very good attention. RCSB trucks are hard to find. I remember having to look everywhere before I found mine.
