HorsePower- if it don't scare ya it aint enough
Do I have to send my ECM/PCM in before my tune? Or can I give it to yall at the time of the meet?
If yOu do the remote tune, you can do the relearn with a laptop. If Justin does it in person he'll take care of that.
I dId mine in the garage in a mater of a few minutes.
You'll be happy!
I was just looking at the site and it was saying they would send out the units ahead of time so we could do the security recrank. I didn't know if I drove to the meet with it in or what. lol I just made my deposit I'm sure I will get some info from him as well. I just dont want my DD to not go lmaoWhen I got my Sierra done the process went like this:
Paid and put my deposit down towards the tune. They sent me a new ECM (engine) and TCM (transmission) with instruction on how to do the security relearn. Did the security relearn and then a while later drove to the meet. When I got to the meet Justin asked a few questions, did the crank relearn and we drove around a bit while he tinkered with some more stuff. I kept both sets of computers so I could throw my stock ones back in if I needed to go to the dealership to retain the 5yr/100k warranty.
My dad got a data logging tune that just required driving around with my laptop and then e-mailing the data to Justin. He then sent new modules down to put in the truck and the software used for the data logging can also perform the crank relearn.
They include all the instruction that you might need
Also, FYI: if you have the 6 speed auto the TCM is in the tranny and can't be swapped out but if you do an in-person tune he'll just reprogram that one.
A good tune, such as Black Bear is the best money that can be spent on a GM.![]()
