Subaru introduces a rather ugly RWD coupe to the market.

Wonder who thought this would be a hit?

It might not be all that pretty, but a car well under 3000 lbs with about 200 hp will be unbelievably fun to drive. It's almost like it is filling the "Miata coupe" slot.

And Michael, Subaru engineered the car, Toyota designed it, and put up most of the cash.

Yeah, Subaru did the drivetrain. But, if Toyota hadn't been footing the bill for another Scion, Subaru wouldn't have built it on their own.. It not being AWD tells me Subaru didn't hatch the idea.. :dunno:

The Toyota fabboys are all crying and saying they won't buy it because Toyota wants to hang the Scion label on it.

Dan... I'm sure a more powerful version is in the works but it will still sell in miserable numbers (as coupes tend to do). It may well be fun to drive though!

Here is the Scion version. This shot doesn't look too bad.

Yeah, I think the front fascia and the logos / badging are about all that's different between them (aesthetically). I really think they should've worked to at least make them look more different than they do.. :dunno:
