All my racing buddys take their sway bar off. The ones that take em off have been lowered or at stock height.

Has anyone here done this?

It sounds stupid but if your truck runs 12.1 in the 1/4 a couple pounds could get you into 11's.

You remove for drag racing for better weight transfer on launch and for offroading for better articulation. They make quick release links so that it doesn't have to be physically removed.

Regular street driving handling will suffer quite a bit without the sway bar. I've used disconnects on my jeeps and there was a huge difference on dry land with them disconnected. I don't see how there would be any advantage to removing it.

Taking the sway bar off for on-street driving is a horrible idea. There is absolutely NO benefit to removing it.

For offroading, i disconnect my rear sway bar. Thus far i've left the front connected to prevent the CV's from over extending... i'm 50/50 on if its worthwhile to disconnect the front sway bar offroading with an IFS vehicle.

Yeah... it changes it for the worse.

Now if they're lowered and using really stiff springs that make the ride suck already, its probably not a big deal because of the lower CG and stiffer springs preventing body roll. But for any other vehicle, just don't do it.

Front sway bar also does a lot more work than the rear sway bars, especially when cornering.
