My next door neighbor has a 2007 Ford F150.
When he is at his ranch, and drives the truck thru tall grass out in the the pasture, while checking on the cattle...The cruise control then decides not to work for several days.

After coming back to the city and driving around for a few days... it will start working again and work EVERY TIME... until he goes back to the ranch and drives it thru tall grass in the pastures again...

Then it don't work again...
This has been going on for a few months and is easily repeatable...

Any one have any ideas on where to start looking for the problem???

Same here. I was just being a smartass to bump it. I suspect Michael had the same motive.

I would disconnect it before it catches on fire. And that's not joking around!

What is weird about it is, it ALWAYS WORKS until he goes to the ranch and drives it thru tall grass.

Last summer he had the same problem... drive it thru tall grass and the cruise quits working.
This past winter... when there wasn't any tall grass, he could drive it all over the ranch and never had a problem.

Now that the grass has grown up high again...as "SOON" as he drives thru tall grass the cruise quits working.

When he gets back to town, after driving it around for several days... the cruise will start working again and it will work perfectly till he goes back to the ranch and drives thru tall grass again...

Is this an "adaptive" system that maybe has a forward-looking sensor that the tall grass could be hitting? :dunno:

Don't think so... it is a pretty plain jane F150... :dunno:
But I will check and see.
I am taking my code reader over there in a bit to see if there are any codes set.
