...this thing ain't getting black wheels.

^ MAJOR FAIL

Have to bring it up next time we work on the coupe(which will hopefully be soon :)). Cool find though! You did a nice job on cleaning it up.
That's the plan, as it gets twice the gas mileage as the truck. No black wheels though, the truck will be the only one to get those. I want this to just be a simple, clean vehicle. Simple works better for something that's not supposed to be a money pit.

And Colin's got a job now, and just bought a shitton of sandpaper, and some bondo the other day, so the bumpers should be getting some work done on them soon. I'm done for summer now and Evan will be home in a week, so just let me know whenever you want to work on the car.
Oh, and nice silver vein pcoat on the sway bar.
I knew you'd like that.
Those wheels kinda stick out a bit don't they?

Those wheels kinda stick out a bit don't they?

I was thinking the same thing.. I'm guessing they weren't pushed all the way on.. :dunno:

This is how they look when mounted:

Close to the fenders, but no poke.

Those do look a lot like my golf cart wheels though, seriously.

:rollin: They look like a lot of wheels. They're far from a unique wheel, but they just look... Good.

Dan when you getting them mounted up?

Whenever I have the cash for tires.

I've depleted as much of the money as I want to that I had saved up, now I need to find a job.

WTF, Dan? :dunno:

BTW, does anyone make smoked or clear side marker lenses for these?

The badge? It's pinned. :( The one on the other side isn't, and will be coming off soon.

And they make clear markers, but I think they look like shit on the rear. I've considered getting them for the front, I just haven't gotten around to it.

This is how they look when mounted on a lowered Miata:

Fixed. :uhoh:

You need to, at the very least, eventually put on some progressive rate springs, not saying drop it on the ground, but anything lower than stock will help with the fender/wheel gap. I'm sure they make a mildly lower (but comfortable riding) spring for it :)

Maybe you can even find some cheaper used ones on ebay.

That picture was just for an offset reference.

The suspension on this car will eventually get a full workover (in a few years), and I just don't see the point in spending money on a temporary setup. These cars handle amazing at stock height, and there's no cheap way to lower them without sacrificing some of that handling. You can get springs for cheap, but it's the shocks that really affect handling and ride. The stock length shocks really don't like lowering springs, and there aren't any inexpensive good shock out there.

With this car, handling will always take precedent over looks (I mean duh, look at the car, looking good isn't what it's best at).

And besides, the car's so damn small you can hardly see the wheel gap unless you're over 50 feet away.

Perhaps then the smoked markers would look better. :dunno:

As for the badge, that blows, although, you did mention a lot of sandpaper and bondo handy. :D
