well i dont but today i went out with my buddy to a trail and it got pretty rocky and steep and i hit a big rut going up a rocky trail and i heard a huge clunk noise and was scared one of my rear axles poped out....well i tried to go up a little higher and saw there was noise coming from the left rear axle

so i said screw it let me try going back down to get out of here.....while i was going down i kept on hearing the noise but hoped nothing happened.....we got to a dead end so i had to reverse and once i did that it wouldnt go forward anymore :icon_sad:

we hooked it up to the back of his jk and towed it around to find the quickest exit which took about 4 hours up and down rocky hills which i was surprised his jeep handled that while pulling my jeep

we got to the main road and decided i can roll my way down to my GF's house and leave it there which was about 6 miles through a small highway

1 hour later we finally got there and this is the final verdict

front stabilizer bar dead and also rear differential

and for the rear i shall install this soon

hopefully it lasts

That sucks but on the upside IT'S TIME TO UPGRADE!

My truck was doing the same thing( without the horrible noise) blew the spiders to pieces...Hopefully you get it fixed quickly and get back out on the trails

Dana 35s are prone to fail if given any stress! A Ford Explorer axle will live in there in places you would not believe!

I'm tellin ya man... a Ford 8.8 is the ticket. They are stout axles and I've seen many of them in Cherokees doing serious crawling. The Ford 8.8 is stronger than a Dana 44 in every way and is only slightly heavier

Dana 44 is a good unit. It and the 8.8 are the preferred upgrades. I didn't know you already had it.
