$56 for registration, $30 for inspection and $220ish for tax. So $300-310 total

You have to pay tax yearly?

Our's is just when you buy the vehicle and pay taxes on the vehicle itself. We also don't have inspections/emmisions. :D

Mine is around $80 on this truck. Used to be $65, but they have gone up some the last couple years. No tax except when you purchase, and I don't live in a Metro area, so no emissions testing.

I remember when we moved from NM to KS, my registration at the time went from $56 to around $520 because they charged tax annually in addition to the registration. I about crapped the first time I had to pay! :(

The equivalent up here would be the license fee which was $125 this last year.

$85 I think
You're close.

WI
(as a reference, a car/van/SUV is $75)
Class A (up to 4,500lbs) = $75/yr......compact truck (usually)
Class B (up to 6,000lbs) = $84/yr......1/2 ton (usually)
Class C (up to 8,000lbs) = $106/yr....3/4 ton (usually)
Then there's more that are based on the weight of the vehicle.
Collector = twice the annual fee plust $50; good for life
Custom = add $15 to the price each year

Here's all WI registration fees.

It use to be that Class A plates were cheaper than a car was. So people were putting Class A's on vans and SUV's to save money. Well, the DMV caught on to that :(.

i was only a dollar off.

Buy new and trade every two years and you don't have to worry about it...? I thought that was your M.O., Zem?? :jester:
License fees come round every year.

Sounds like a lot of you guys pay a lot more than we do here.

Texas does not do a state income tax or personal property tax. You pay sales tax on your vehicle and then just license plate renewals each year after that.
